Chapter 6 Petroleum Products Evaporation and Leakage
This chapter covers methodologies related to a broad suite of emission sources in the petroleum product supply chain system, including transport and delivery, storage, and end-use operations. The focus is primarily on emissions of reactive organic gases (ROG) or volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The methodologies address both unintentional fugitive losses (e.g., natural gas distribution and storage tanks) and uncontrolled by-product releases (e.g., gasoline filling stations and aircraft fueling). Evaporative and process losses from the use of petroleum products in various applications, such as dry cleaning, paving of roads with asphalt, and solvent-use, are also covered in this chapter.
